Sharing our Associate's Stories
November 13-19 is Transgender Awareness week.
In honour of Transgender Awareness week, one of our associates, Chase, who is part of our Pride Alliance community, offered to share a bit his story in an effort to inspire others and bring awareness to the experiences of those who are Transgender.
Chase is an Environmental Services Team Lead at one of our hospital locations. Chase has been with Compass for almost 10 years and during that time has transitioned from female to male.
"Being from the LGBTQ+ community, I always felt welcome and equal. Once I started my transition from female to male – my management team went right to work on getting my name and pronouns right."
Compass Group Canada feels very fortunate to have Chase on our team. In June 2020, Chase was recognized with a HERO award for his energizing attitude and assisting the community while displaying Compass' Core values. His commitment to the patient experience at the hospital - especially with infection control and Health and Safety - is his top priority.
We want to thank Chase for sharing a small part of his experience with us and our community.
Compass Group Canada continues to work towards a future where everyone can feel safe to be true to who they are. Our just now site was created to help our associates, family and friends find resources on the issues that impact their overall well-being and sense of belonging.
